According to Moonalice legend, this band first played here in Haines in 2007. Three of us were here that day. This is the band’s sixth visit to Haines — always in odd-numbered years — and we love everything about this town.
Tonight’s poster by our art director Chris Shaw depicts Bobby Seale Moonalice, a pinniped pot farmer whose outspoken defense of civil rights was the subject of the film, The Trial of the Barking Seals. Bobby’s great contribution to farming came in the form of a groundbreaking sativa/Sockeye hybrid. Equally tasty in a bong or on a bagel, the hybrid has been a real hit with our band.
